Brief: The Olympic Games are one of the world’s greatest and most recognized events. The United States Olympic Committee (USOC) recognizes the value of design and its success to define the perception of Team USA to a global audience. 

The purpose of this project was to develop a brand extension for Team USA in the Torino 2006 Winter Olympics. The deliverables ranged from basic brand elements such as typography and adverts to interior environments.

Using the primary mark, provided by the USOC, as inspiration, the brand extension focused on promoting the Olympic Games experience while ensuring consistency and quality of designs to represent Team USA.

The honeycomb structure is similar to what we see in the internal molecular lattice of a snow crystal. If you could zoom in about a million times into any region of a snow crystal, you would see a lattice of hexagonal rings, which was the inspiration for the secondary graphics.
